General description

NBD PG is a lipid fluorescent probe with 7-nitro-2-1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl (NBD) attached to phosphatidylglycerol (PG). PG is localized to alveoli and is mostly found in the pulmonary surfactant.

Biochem/physiol Actions

7-nitro-2-1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl (NBD) labeled fluorescence probes efficiently contributes to study the formation of membranes, micelles and reverse micelles. 7-nitro-2-1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl (NBD) phosphatidylglycerol (PG) serves as a substrate for enzyme assays. PG plays a vital role in the regulation of innate immune response and contributes to alveolar stability.
