Application

TRKA (440-end), active, GST tagged human was used to study functional NGF signal transduction.

Biochem/physiol Actions

TRKA (440-end), active, GST tagged human is a 140 kD membrane-spanning protein tyrosine kinase that belongs to proto-oncogene family. TRKA facilitates the regulation of cell differentiation and survival via activating SHC1 and FRS2 which in turn activates a GRB2-Ras-MAPK cascade. It also plays a pivotal role in controlling NF-κ-B activation as well as transcription of genes involved in cell survival via PLCG1.

Physical form

Supplied in 50 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, with 150 mM NaCl, 0.2 5mM DTT, 0.1 mM EGTA, 0.1 mM EDTA, 0.1 mM PMSF, and 25% glycerol.

We aimed to investigate the expression of nerve growth factor (NGF) and high affinity NGF receptor (p140 TrkA) on chondrocytes from human healthy and osteoarthritic cartilage. We recruited 12 patients with osteoarthritis (OA) undergoing surgical knee replacement. Articular cartilage was

The most consistent neuropathological finding in Alzheimer disease (AD) is the loss of cholinergic neurons of the nucleus basalis of Meynert (NbM). Using immunohistochemistry, we have previously shown that cholinergic neurons located in the ventral striatum were affected, whereas those

Interaction between cancer cells and their microenvironment is central in defining the fate of cancer development. Tumour cells secrete signals (cytokines, chemokines, growth factors) that modify the surrounding area, while the niche supplies structures and activities necessary for tumour maintenance

In response to NGF, the Trk receptor tyrosine kinase forms a complex with SHC, a protein that couples receptor tyrosine kinases to p21ras. Complex formation between Trk and SHC, SHC tyrosine phosphorylation, and association of SHC with Grb2 were mediated

The trk proto-oncogene encodes a 140-kilodalton, membrane-spanning protein tyrosine kinase (p140prototrk) that is expressed only in neural tissues. Nerve growth factor (NGF) stimulates phosphorylation of p140prototrk in neural cell lines and in embryonic dorsal root ganglia. Affinity cross-linking and equilibrium
