General description

The Mouse Shh-N (Sonic Hedgehog N Terminus) ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of mouse Shh-N in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine.

Immunogen

Recombinant Mouse Sonic Hedgehog (N-terminus)

Application

For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Mouse Shh-N ELISA Kit has been used to measure serum sonic hedgehog (Shh) level.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Sonic hedgehog (Shh) is a secreted glycoprotein involved in embryonic morphogenic development of several tissues. It has a role in fracture healing and regeneration. In the canonical pathway, the protein associates with its receptor Patched (Ptc-1), de-represses Smoothened (Smo) and activates the Gli family of transcription factors. Mutations in the Shh pathway have been linked to developmental diseases and cancer. Shh plays a vital role in axon growth and guidance throughout the brain development. Shh stimulates neurite outgrowth by overcoming neurite growth inhibitory environment associated with glial scar.
