General description

Monoclonal Anti-NF-κB p65 (mouse IgG1 isotype) is derived from the NF-12 hybridoma produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from a BALB/c mouse immunized with a recombinant, mouse NF-κB p65 fragment. Nuclear factor κB (NF-κB1) is a member of NF-κB/Rel family of transcription factors.
Nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B cells 1, p105 (NFKB1) is a subunit of nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) and exists as a dimer. It is expressed in the cytosol.

Immunogen

recombinant mouse NF-κB p65 fragment (C-terminal, 151 amino acids).

Application

Monoclonal Anti-NF-κB antibody produced in mouse has been used in immunohistochemistry and Western blotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB1) has an ability to affect transcription of κB reporter genes positively or negatively when assayed following transfection.
Nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B cells 1, p105 (NFKB1) has a role in hippocampal neurogenesis. It regulates the signaling by nuclear factor κB (NF-κB). Deletion of the gene in mice leads to defects in innate and adaptive immunity. The protein acts as a mediator of apoptotic response to S-phase DNA damage and replication stress. NFKB1 modulates the structural plasticity of cortical neurons. Knockout of the protein in mice has been shown to cause liver apoptosis and embryonic death.
