When used for drying gases, DRIERITE has a water capacity ranging from 10 to 14 weight percent. This enhanced capacity is attributed to the combined chemical and capillary action.

- Dinuclear nickel-catalyzed asymmetric vinylogous Mannich-type reaction of α, β-unsaturated γ-butyrolactam and N-boc imines to synthesize vinylogous Mannich adducts.
- Catalytic epoxidation of propylene glycol acetates to propylene oxide.
- Rare earth-alkali metal heterobimetallic complex-catalyzed enantioselective Aza-Michael addition of alkoxylamines to α, β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds to synthesize β-amino carbonyl compounds.

How can one determine when Drierite (238988) is no longer functioning at maximum capacity?

When Drierite (238988) is no longer functioning at maximum capacity, it will be brittle and crumbly. Additionally, its normal blue color will turn pink when it is no longer optimal. It is possible to "reuse/repurpose" it by baking it again to dry it out.
