General description

CUB domain-containing protein 1 (UniProt: Q9H5V8; also known as Membrane glycoprotein gp140, Subtractive immunization M plus HEp3-associated 135 kDa protein, SIMA135, Transmembrane and associated with Src kinases, CD318) is encoded by the CDCP1 (also known as TRASK) gene (Gene ID: 64866) in human. CUB domain-containing protein 1 is a single-pass membrane protein that is synthesized with a 29 amino acid signal peptide, which is subsequently cleaved to generate the mature form. A soluble form of CUB domain-containing protein 1 has also been reported that is produced by proteolytic cleavage at the cell surface. CUB domain-containing protein 1 is highly expressed in mitotic cells with low expression during interphase. It is detected at highest levels in skeletal muscle and colon. Lower expression is reported in kidney, small intestine, placenta, and lung. It is also reported in cells with phenotypes reminiscent of mesenchymal stem cells and neural stem cells. CUB domain-containing protein 1 levels are up-regulated in a number of human tumor cell lines and in colorectal cancer, breast carcinoma and lung cancer. It is reported to be involved in cell adhesion and cell matrix association and may play a role in the regulation of anchorage versus migration or proliferation versus differentiation via its phosphorylation.

Specificity

Clone 9A2 detects CUB domain-containing protein 1 in human and murine cells. It targets an epitope within the extracellular domain.

Immunogen

Epitope: extracellular domain
His-tagged recombinant fragment corresponding to 638 amino acids from the internal region of human CUB domain-containing protein 1.

Application

Anti-CDCP1 (CD318), clone 9A2, Cat. No. MABT861, is a mouse monoclonal that detects CUB domain-containing protein 1 and has been tested for use in Flow Cytometry.
Flow Cytometry Analysis: 1 µg from a representative lot detected CDCP1 CD318 in MDA-MB231 cells.
