General description
Method: Colorimetric, with test strips, 10 - 30 - 100 - 300 mg/L (Cu), MQuant®
The MQuant®Copper test strips are suitable, for instance, for monitoring and testing of wastewater, from electroplating and copper etching process as well as waste water used in the manufacture of printing plates and printed circuits. The test strips offer a very simple means of determining copper in all aqueous media and on metal surfaces. On the test strip, Copper(II) ions are reduced to copper(I) ions by a reducing-agent mixture. The copper(I) ions react with 2,2-biquinoline (cuproin) to form a violet complex. The copper concentration is measured semi-quantitatively by visual comparison of the reaction zone of the test strip with the fields of a color scale. The test strips are perfect for pre-testing a sample in an economic and quick way to estimate the copper concentration and a possible dilution factor prior to using a quantitative method such as a Spectroquant® test.
Design for sustainability benefits:
We continue to demonstrate our commitment to our planet and a sustainable future by exploring ways to improve existing products in our portfolio. We have recently reviewed the current line of MQuant® test strips to identify key opportunities to minimize impact without compromising on the product performance.
This product has benefited from:
