General description

Neurofilament Light Chain (NF-L) is a low molecular weight member of a family of proteins involved in axonal development and function. NF-L accumulation is viewed as a telltale sign of axonal damage in the brain, and is a key marker in a wide range of neurodegenerative diseases, especially as a blood-based biomarker. We are proud to aid these efforts by offering the new SMC® Human NF-L High Sensitivity Immunoassay Kit. By coupling this assay with the powerful state-of-the-art SMCxPRO® detection system, researchers can accurately assess NF-L concentrations even in low abundance in human serum, plasma, and CSF samples, enabling studies that examine the relevance of this key analyte from health to disease.

Specificity

This assay was tested for cross-reactivity with Neurofilament Medium Chain (NF-M), Neurofilament Heavy Chain (NF-H), phospho-Tau (T181), total Tau, and Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP). No cross-reactivity was detected with these analytes.

Application

Used for ultrasensitivite quantification of Human NF-L in human serum, plasma, and CSF.

Features and Benefits

This SMC® kit features:
