General description

Kinetics of 2-chlorophenol oxidation in near-critical and supercritical water in a high-pressure plug-flow reactor has been investigated. The photocatalytic degradation of 2-chlorophenol in aqueous solution has been studied using Co-doped TiO2 nanoparticles catalyst.

2-Chlorophenol is used as a reactant in Suzuki coupling and chlorination reactions and also participates in oxidation reactions to form corresponding quinones.

Application

2-Chlorophenol was used in the synthesis of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans via Cu(II)O-mediated reaction in a packed bed reactor.
