General description

Ganglioside GD1b is a complex brain ganglioside. It is also present in the serum and are transported by the serum lipoproteins.

Application

Ganglioside GD1b has been used in the purification of GD1b (d20:1−20:0) and GD1b (d20:1−18:0) by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Ganglioside GD1b functions as a receptor for BK virus.
