General description

Inositol phospholipid species are membrane-bound signaling molecules that have been implicated in almost all aspects of cellular physiology, including cellular growth, metabolism, proliferation, and survival.

Application

08:0 PI(3,4)P2 (1,2-dioctanoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-(1′-myo-inositol-3′,4′-bisphosphate) (ammonium salt)) has been used in hydrogen deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS) to compare the dynamics of full-length wild-type (WT) sorting nexin 9 (SNX9)/used in lipid mixture for SNX9 tubulation assay. It may also be used in liposomes for nanoparticle tracking analysis.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Phosphatidylinositol 3,4,-biphosphate (PI(3,4)P2) serves as a lipid second messenger.

Clathrin-mediated endocytosis occurs by bending and remodeling of the membrane underneath the coat. Bin-amphiphysin-rvs (BAR) domain proteins are crucial for endocytic membrane remodeling, but how their activity is spatiotemporally controlled is largely unknown. We demonstrate that the membrane remodeling activity

The quantitatively minor phospholipid phosphatidylinositol (4,5)-bisphosphate [PI(4,5)P(2)] fulfills many cellular functions in the plasma membrane (PM), whereas its synthetic precursor, phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PI4P), has no assigned PM roles apart from PI(4,5)P(2) synthesis. We used a combination of pharmacological and chemical

Multiple proteins act co-operatively in mammalian clathrin-mediated endocytosis (CME) to generate endocytic vesicles from the plasma membrane. The principles controlling the activation and organization of the actin cytoskeleton during mammalian CME are, however, not fully understood. Here, we show that
