General description

Dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide is a cationic lipid that stimulates immune responses, activates macrophages, and binds to antigens.

Application

Dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide has been used in a study to assess the interaction of its monolayers with DNA using specular neutron reflection, surface pressure-area isotherms, and Brewster angle microscopy. It has also been used in a study to investigate new adjuvants for use in kill vaccines for bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV).

Dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide (DDA) stimulates immune responses, primes (or activates) macrophages, and binds to antigens. Because relatively little is known about the binding of adjuvants to antigens, the nature of the interaction of DDA with soluble protein and cellular antigens was

The interaction between phenol molecules, both in their undissociated and dissociated states, and cationic dioctadecyl dimethylammonium chloride (DODAC) vesicles were thoroughly investigated using NMR techniques. In particular, diffusion and relaxation measurements, combined with the two sites Kärger model, were used
