General description

La α-amilasa está compuesta por 496 aminoácidos en una sola cadena polipeptídica, que está encriptada en el cromosoma 1. Se produce en las glándulas salivares o en el páncreas. Las α-amilasas salivar y pancreática tienen secuencias primarias homólogas pero muestran patrones de hidrólisis diferentes.[1]

Application

αLa α-amilasa se utiliza para hidrolizar los enlaces α de los polisacáridos α-unidos, como el almidón y el glucógeno. El producto A1031 procede de la saliva humana, es de tipo IIA, y se suministra como polvo liofilizado. αLa α-amilasa se ha utilizado en varios estudios vegetales, como estudios del metabolismo en Arabidopsis [2]. αLa α-amilasa de la saliva humana se ha utilizado para estudiar el desarrollo de nutracéuticos, que pueden ayudar al tratamiento de la diabetes y la obesidad .

Biochem/physiol Actions

αLa α-amilasa hidroliza los enlaces α-(1,4) glucano en los polisacáridos de tres o más unidades de D-glucosa unidas por enlaces α-(1,4). Sus sustratos naturales, como el almidón y el glucógeno, se descomponen en glucosa y maltosa.[3]

Other Notes

Una unidad liberará 1,0 mg de maltosa del almidón en 3 minutos a pH 6,9 y a 20 °C.

    1. To ensure stability until the recommended retest date printed on the lot specific certificate of analysis, A1031 should be maintained at -20C after receipt. Transport conditions may differ from the recommended long-term storage conditions.

    1. This product is sold by units and vial content will vary from lot to lot. The minimum activity of this enzyme is 300 units per milligram. The following values indicate the least amounts that will be present in each pack size:
      1KU~ 3.3mg
      5KU~16.6 mg

    1. The protein content and enzymatic activity are determined on a lot to lot basis. Each value is reported in the specific Certificate of Analysis. The protein content range is 5 - 15% and the enzymatic activity range is 300 - 1500 units per milligram protein. A review of recent lots indicates typical protein concentrations of 7 - 13% and activities of 1350 - 1450 units per milligram protein.     1. As mentioned in the 'DESCRIPTION' section, this product is a lyophilized powder containing (NH4)2SO4, sodium citrate and sodium chloride. This product is not tested for purity. However, buffer salts are expected to be the bulk of the non-protein content.
