Descripción

General description

Buprenorphine glucuronide is a major urinary metabolite of the semi-synthetic opioid, buprenorphine. This internal standard is suitable for quantitation of buprenorphine glucuronide levels or isotope dilution methods by GC/MS or LC/MS for pain prescription monitoring, clinical toxicology, urine drug testing or forensic analysis. Buprenorphine is used for the management of moderate chronic pain and for the treatment of opioid addiction.

Application

• Determination of buprenorphine, naloxone and phase I and phase II metabolites in rat whole blood by LC-MS/MS.: This study employs LC-MS/MS to quantify buprenorphine, naloxone, and their metabolites, including glucuronides, in rat whole blood. The use of Buprenorphine-D₄-3-beta-D-glucuronide as an internal standard ensures precise measurement and reliable pharmacokinetic data, critical for opioid metabolism research (Cohier C et al., 2020).
