General description

Barium Phosphate is an alkaline earth phosphate and exhibits properties such as low dispersion, high refractive index, low melting and low glass transition temperature, high transparency to ultraviolet light, high thermal expansion coefficient. Barium phosphate glasses show a wide range of glass formation regions and more homogeneity than other alkali earth phosphate glasses.

Application

Barium phosphate may find uses in a variety of industrial applications, including optical applications like host glasses for pulsed lasers, preparation of glasses with special properties and solders for glass to glass bonding. As a proton conducting glass it is maybe used in development of hydrogen sensors/fuel sensors.
