General description

Tubulin a 100kD protein is present in all cells as a heterodimer of two similar polypeptides α and β which assemble to form microtubules. Proper organization of microtubules is essential for several cellular functions like mitosis, meiosis, some forms of organellar movement, intracellular transport, flagellar movement and cytoskeletal functions. Monoclonal anti-β-tubulin I antibody can be used in ELISA to localize β tubulin isotype I and can be used in immunoblotting to localize cultured human and animal cells. Mouse anti-β-tubulin I antibody reacts specifically with an epitope found in the c-terminal sequence of β tubulin of human, rat, dog, bovine, hamster, mouse, chicken and xenopus

Specificity

Recognizes an epitope located in the C-terminal sequence of β-tubulin isotype I. No reactivity with other tubulin isotypes is observed.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal sequence of β-tubulin isotype I, conjugated to BSA.

Application

Monoclonal anti-β-tubulin I antibody (diluted 1: 4,000) can be used as a primary antibody in immunoprecipitation and immunoblotting. It can also be used in western blot analysis and retroviral infection.

Mutations in p53 are ubiquitous in human tumors. Some p53 mutations not only result in loss of wild-type (WT) activity but also grant additional functions, termed "gain of function." In this study, we explore how the status of p53 affects

The Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway controls important cellular events during development and often contributes to disease when dysregulated. Using high throughput screening we have identified a new small molecule inhibitor of Wnt/ß-catenin signaling, WIKI4. WIKI4 inhibits expression of ß-catenin target genes

Factors linking inflammation and cancer are of great interest. We now report that the chromatin-targeting E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF20/RNF40, driving histone H2B monoubiquitylation (H2Bub1), modulates inflammation and inflammation-associated cancer in mice and humans. Downregulation of RNF20 and H2Bub1 favors recruitment

Tubulin, the subunit protein of microtubules, is an alpha/beta heterodimer. In many organisms, both alpha and beta consist of various isotypes. Although the isotypes differ in their tissue distributions, the question of whether the isotypes perform different functions in vivo

Artículos

Microtubules of the eukaryotic cytoskeleton are composed of a heterodimer of α- and β-tubulin. In addition to α-and β-tubulin, several other tubulins have been identified, bringing the number of distinct tubulin classes to seven.
