Descripción general

Human cathepsin V (GenBank Accession No. NM_001333.2), CD33 signal peptide(amino acids 1-16) + cathepsin V (amino acids 18-334), with C-terminal HIS tag, MW = 37 kDa, expressed in FreeStyle 293-F cells.

Aplicación

Active human cathepsin V is useful for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling. Active human cathepsin V has been used in a study to assess the cysteine protease attribute of the eukaryotic ribosomal protein S4. [1] Active human cathepsin V has also been used in a study to determine that the simultaneous treatment of human bronchial epithelial cells with serine and cysteine protease inhibitors prevents severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus entry. [2]

Definición de unidad

One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will cleave 1 pmol of substrate per min at 37°C

Forma física

Formulated in 40 mM MES, pH 5.0, 120 mM NaCL and 20% glycerol.

Nota de preparación

Thaw on ice. Upon first thaw, briefly spin tube containing enzyme to recover full content of the tube. Aliquot enzyme into single use aliquots. Store remaining undiluted enzyme in aliquots at -70°C. Note: Enzyme is very sensitive to freeze/thaw cycles.

Ribosomal proteins often carry out extraribosomal functions. The protein S4 from the smaller subunit of Escherichia coli, for instance, regulates self synthesis and acts as a transcription factor. In humans, S4 might be involved in Turner syndrome. Recent studies also

The intracellular accumulation of α-synuclein (α-syn) amyloid fibrils is a hallmark of Parkinson's disease. Because lysosomes are responsible for degrading aggregated species, enhancing lysosomal function could alleviate the overburden of α-syn. Previously, we showed that cysteine cathepsins (Cts) is the
