Descripción general

El producto es un óxido de aluminio activado básico (Alúmina, Al2O3) que tiene un grado de actividad Brockman I. Se ha estudiado el mecanismo de formación de las escamas protectoras de α-Al2O3 en las superficies de aleaciones binarias de M-Al (M = Fe, Ni o Co) a elevadas temperaturas.[1] Los óxidos de aluminio activados que tienen diferentes acideces y concentraciones de agua (con una actividad de Brockmann de I a V) pueden detectar fácilmente varios tipos de agua (agua libre, agua de los poros y agua ligada) en el óxido de aluminio presente en los suelos.[2]
Los óxidos de aluminio Brockmann son adecuados para cromatografía en columna y filtración adsortiva.

Aplicación

El óxido de aluminio (alúmina) se ha utilizado para la retirada de los peróxidos del disolvente de deshidratación (tetrahidrofurano, THF) en un protocolo. El protocolo consistía en el estudio de alta resolución de la anatomía fina del cerebro en cerebros de ratón marcados con fluorescencia.[3]
Puede utilizarse en la fabricación de electrólitos sólidos policristalinos de yoduro de litio-óxido de aluminio. La incorporación del óxido de aluminio aumentó de manera notable la conductividad del yoduro de litio.[4]

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.   4. What is the density of product number 199443?

    1. In general, density information is typically available for most liquids. However, if a product is supplied in very small quantities, density information may not be available for all liquids. On the other hand, density information is not usually available for solids. Occasionally, you may find density information in Section 9 of the Safety Data Sheet, but in this case, the SDS states that no information is available. It is also advisable to check the Properties section of the product page, although it is uncommon to find "bulk density" values for solids in this section. Upon reviewing the Specification Sheet, it is indicated that the product only appears as a powder. Consequently, the density might vary depending on whether the lot in question is a fine, medium, or coarse powder. This variability is a likely reason why density is not measured for this or other powders.
