Gene Information

human ... MIXL1(83881)

General description

MIXL1 is also known as Homeobox protein MIXL1, Homeodomain protein MIX (hMix), MIX1 homeobox-like protein 1, and Mix.1 homeobox-like protein. MIXL1 is a transcription factor with roles in axial mesendoderm morphogenesis, endoderm formation, blood cell differentiation, and morphogenesis of the heart and the gut during embryogenesis. MIXL1 has been shown to negatively regulate brachyury expression. MIXL1 is expressed mainly in progenitors and secondary lymph tissues, immature B- and T-lymphoid cells during normal hematopoiesis, and is also present in differentiating embryonic stem cells.

Specificity

Other homologies: Mouse and Rat (85% sequence homology).
This antibody recognizes the homeobox DNA binding domain of MIXL1.

Immunogen

Epitope: Homeobox DNA binding domain
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the homeobox DNA binding domain of human MIXL1.

Application

Anti-MIXL1 Antibody is a highly specific rabbit polyclonal antibody, that targets Homeobox protein MIXL1 & has been tested in western blotting & ICC.
Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:200 dilution from a representative lot detected MIXL1 in H9 embryoid body cells. This protein was observed in H9 embryoid bodies (Lee, M. R., et al. (2010). Stem Cells. 28:1550-1559). MIXL1 was also localized in the nucleus of COS-7 and mouse ES cells (Mossman, A. K., et al. (2005). Stem Cells and Development. 14:656-663).

Human fibrin hydrogels are a popular choice for use as a biomaterial within tissue engineered constructs because they are biocompatible, nonxenogenic, autologous use compatible, and biodegradable. We have recently demonstrated the ability to culture induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived retinal
