Gene Information

human ... TGFBR2(7048)

General description

Transforming growth factor β receptor 2 (TGFBR2) is a serine/threonine protein kinase, that belongs to the TGFβ receptor subfamily. It is located on human chromosome 3p24.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human TGF beta Receptor II around the phosphorylation site of Ser225/250.

Immunogen Range: 191-240

Biochem/physiol Actions

Transforming growth factor β receptor 2 (TGFBR2) plays an important role in signal transduction resulting in mitogenic responses. Mutation in TGFBR2 result in Loeys-Dietz syndrome and Marfan syndrome.
