Gene Information

human ... APC2(10297)

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the middle region of human APC2

Application

Anti-APC2 antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blotting at a concentration of 0.5μg/ml and for immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded tissue sections at a concentration of 4-8μg/ml.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Adenomatosis polyposis coli 2 (APC2) is a tumor suppressor and a negative regulator of Wnt signaling pathway. The C-terminal of APC interacts with microtubules and is important for cytoskeletal regulation. The expression of APC2 and Axin protein is required to maintain the fidelity of mitosis as they regulate cytoskeleton and facilitate centrosome separation.

Sequence

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: LAVARIDQLVEDISALHTSSDDSFSLSSGDPGQEAPREGRAQSCSPCRGP

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

Adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) is a multifunctional protein commonly mutated in colon cancer. APC contains binding sites for multiple proteins with diverse roles in signaling and the structural and functional organization of cells. Recent evidence suggests roles for APC and

To ensure the accurate transmission of genetic material, chromosome segregation must occur with extremely high fidelity. Segregation errors lead to chromosomal instability (CIN), with deleterious consequences. Mutations in the tumor suppressor adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) initiate most colon cancers and

Wnt signaling plays key roles in development and disease. The tumor suppressor adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) is an essential negative regulator of Wnt signaling. Its best-characterized role is as part of the destruction complex, targeting the Wnt effector β-catenin (βcat)
