Cresyl violet acetate, also known as oxazine 9, is a small diaminobenzooxazine dye that has a planar conjugated system of moderate size.
Application
Cresyl Violet acetate has been used in Nissl staining of sections of the spinal cord and brain. It is also suitable for the demonstration of nuclei and Nissl substance in neuroanatomical investigations. Additional applications of Cresyl violet include staining of sex chromatin, identification of Helicobacter, and diagnostically as a vital stain in endoscopic procedures.
Suitability
Certified for Nissl staining of paraffin sections of spinal cord and brain and to stain cartilage and mast cell granules.
Neurodevelopment and mature brain function are spatiotemporally regulated by various cytokines and chemokines. The chemokine-like neuropeptide FAM19A1 is a member of family with sequence similarity 19 (FAM19), which is predominantly expressed in the brain. Its highly conserved amino acid sequence
