General description

Tetramethylrhodamine isothiocyanate–Dextran, also known as TRITC-Dextran or TRITC-Dextran 40, is a fluorescent dye and a novel drug. The fluorescent activity of TRITC-Dextran is detected at 555nm wavelength. The TRITC-Dextran molecules are released in the cells through passive diffusion due to a concentration gradient.

Application

Tetramethylrhodamine isothiocyanate–Dextran (TRITC-Dextran 40) is used as a fluorescent probe to study cell processes such as cell permeability, phagocytosis and endocytosis and to study mechanisms of biomolecular drug delivery.
