General description

1,5-Diphenylcarbazide is a colorimetric reagent commonly employed in the determination of trace metals.

Application

1,5-Diphenylcarbazide may be used in the following processes:
  • As a reagent for the quantification of palladium and platinum by spectrophotometry.
  • As a mediator for the functionalization of carbon paste electrodes employed in the estimation of Hg(II) ions by differential pulse voltammetry.
  • Fabrication of gold nanoparticles that can be employed for the detection of chromium (VI) ions via colorimetry.
