General description

The dye Carminic acid (C.I. 75470) GR for analysis and for microscopy, is a dry dye used to prepare dye-solutions. Together with a mordant solution of lithium, aluminium or boron it is used as a lake for staining. Carminic acid is applied for various stainings, e.g. for the detection of glycogen and mucous substances (Best′s carmine), for nucelar staining or for vital staining. The dye has a constant dye content and a reliable high quality, which is one of the major precondition for a reproducible diagnostic staining.
