General description

Soy PG is a phosphatidylglycerol (PG) mixture containing greater proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids.

Application

Soy PG or L-α-phosphatidylglycerol (Soy) (sodium salt) might be used:
  • to study the interaction between phosphatidylglycerol (PG) and recombinant protein, AtROP6 (Rho-like GTPases), by comparing the classical protein lipid overlay (CPLO) and modified PLO (MPLO) assays
  • in liposome sedimentation assay, microscale thermophoresis (MST) assay, ROP6 activity assay and PG profile analysis, to study the role of PG in activation of ROP6 GTPase in Arabidopsis
  • in liposomes to study its effect on mouse keratinocyte proliferation

Biochem/physiol Actions

Soy PG is known to effectively prevent keratinocyte proliferation. Thus, it can treat keratinocyte hyperproliferation.

We have previously shown that phosphatidylglycerol (PG) regulates the function of keratinocytes, the predominant cells that compose the epidermis, inhibiting the proliferation of rapidly dividing keratinocytes. In particular, soy PG, a PG mixture with a high proportion of polyunsaturated fatty

Plant Rho-like GTPases (ROPs) are switch-like proteins which play essential roles in controlling cell polarity development and cellular activities. ROPs are regulated by many factors, such as auxin, light, and RopGEFs and RopGAPs proteins. However, it has not been reported

Lipids perform multiple functions in the cell, and lipid-protein interactions play a key role in metabolism. Although various techniques have been developed to study lipid-protein interactions, the interacting protein partners that bind to most lipids remain unknown. The protein lipid

We have previously shown that liposomes composed of egg-derived phosphatidylglycerol (PG), with a mixed fatty acid composition (comprising mainly palmitate and oleate), inhibit the proliferation and promote the differentiation of rapidly dividing keratinocytes, and stimulate the growth of slowly proliferating
