General description

Myrtucommulone B, a polyprenylated acylphloroglucinol, is a naturally occurring substance typically extracted from Myrtus communis (Myrtaceae). Previous studies have indicated that this natural compound derived from plants possesses a range of biological activities, including antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties

Application

It is a natural product derived from plant source that finds application in compound screening libraries, metabolomics, phytochemical, and pharmaceutical research.

Biochem/physiol Actions

According to the existing research, Myrtucommulone B exhibited strong inhibition of sEH (soluble epoxide hydrolase) activity, suggesting its potential role in regulating lipid metabolism and inflammation. Further, it also showed significant inhibition of α-glucosidase activity suggesting its potential as antidiabetic and antibacterial agents.
