General description

The Human Thyroglobulin ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human Thyroglobulin in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine.

Immunogen

Recombinant Human Thyroglobulin

Application

For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)
Human Thyroglobulin ELISA Kit has been used to measure the secreted thyroglobulin (TG) level in primary human thyrocytes.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Thyroglobulin (TG) is a prothyroid hormone. It plays a vital role in production of L-thyroxine (tetraiodothyronine, T4) and L-triiodothyronine (T3) hormones in thyroid gland. Tyrosyls of TG acts as substrate for iodination and hormone formation. Serum thyroglobulin level is used as marker of metastases in differentiated thyroid carcinomas. Mutation in the gene is associated with the development of congenital goitrous hypothyroidism and non-endemic simple goitre.

In recent years, decabromodiphenyl ethane (DBDPE), a new alternative flame retardant to the decabrominated diphenyl ethers (BDE-209), is widely used in a variety of products. Previous studies have indicated that DBDPE, like BDE-209, could disrupt thyroid function. However, compared with
