Cell Line Description

The cells are rendered TK- by selection with 50μg/ml BUdR. HTK- has the same STR profile as 143B (Sigma Catalogue number 91112502), both are TK-; it is likely that they are the same cell line by different names.

Culture Medium

EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 25mg/l Bromo-deoxy Uridine (BUdR) + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

Subculture Routine

Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:10 i.e. seeding at 1-3x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
