General description

Triethoxyvinylsilane(TEVS) is a silane coupling agent and an adhesion promoter which can be used for cross-linking and for providing an insulating layer with good mechanical and thermal properties.

Application

TEVS can be used in the surface modification of silica nanoparticles (SiNPs) which can be reinforced on linear-low density polyethylene (LLDP) for food packaging applications. It can be encapsulated with different pigments like protoporphrin XI and methylene blue to artificially sensitize the tissues for photodynamic therapy.
Triethoxyvinylsilane (TEVS) was used to modify nano-silica particlesand poly (vinyl acetate). TEVS may undergo emulsion copolymerization with styrene (St), butyl acrylate (BA), and methacrylic acid (MAA). The formation of random copolymers of TEVS with styrene (St) has been reported. TEVS may undergo graft polymerization with styrene and methyl methacrylate over different silicates .
