General description

Spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK) is a member of the non-receptor tyrosine kinase family. It is usually expressed in epithelial breast tissues and hematopoietic cells. SYK is mapped to human chromosome 9q22.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human SYK around the phosphorylation site of Tyr525.

Immunogen Range: 491-540

Application

Anti-phospho-SYK (pTyr525) antibody has been used in immunohistochemistry.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK), as a tumor suppressor gene helps to prevent the development and metastasis of breast cancer cells. It participates in B-cell receptor signaling. This protein helps to phosphorylate the α-tubulin subunits of microtubules.

Purpose: Ewing sarcoma (EWS) is a devastating soft tissue sarcoma affecting predominantly young individuals. Tyrosine kinases (TK) and associated pathways are continuously activated in many malignancies, including EWS; these enzymes provide candidate therapeutic targets.Experimental Design: Two high-throughput screens (a siRNA
