Gene Information

human ... RPS6(6194)

General description

Anti-S6 Ribosomal protein antibody detects endogenous levels of total S6 Ribosomal protein protein.
The RPS6 (ribosomal protein S6) gene is mapped to human chromosome 9p22.1.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human S6 Ribosomal Protein.

Immunogen Range: 191-240

Biochem/physiol Actions

The RPS6 (ribosomal protein S6) protein is involved in the 40S subunit assembling. RpS6 might be involved in the regulation of cellular metabolism, the size of cells, their proliferation and survival. RpS6 might stimulate or inhibit translation of certain mRNA. Upregulation of the gene is observed in pulmonary sclerosing hemangioma, lymphangioleiomyomatosis-associated angiomyolipomas, dysplasia, oral cavity and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
