General description
Terrific Broth (TB) is one of the complex media that is widely used to grow Escherichia coli in small-scale cultures. Terrific Broth is a highly enriched granulated medium to improve the yield of plasmid DNA from E. coli. The granules ensure rapid and uniform dissolution in water, and prevent clumping of the medium and inhalation of the airborne powder. The composition of the Terrific Broth per liter is 12 g tryptone, 24 g yeast extract, 9.4 g potassium phosphate, dibasic, and 2.2 g potassium phosphate, monobasic. Use 47.6 g of granulated medium per liter of water.
Application
Terrific Broth – Novagen has been used to culture BLR(DE3) bacteria for protein polymer synthesis and production of recombinant antigens for autoantibody assays
