Gene Information

human ... PDP1(54704)

General description

PP-2 C α/β is heterodimer located in the mitochondrial matrix. Within the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, PP-2 C α/β serves to catalyze the dephosphorylation and concomitant reactivation of the E1 component’s alpha subunit. Mutations occurring in the PDP1 gene are the cause of a disease known as pyruvate dehydrogenase deficiency (PDP deficiency), which leads to neurological dysfunction from lactic acidosis.

Specificity

Recognizes the alpha/beta regulatory subunit isotype of protein phosphatase 2C (PP2C). PP 2C alpha/beta polyclonal antibody binds a 44-46 kDa protein.

Immunogen

Purified peptide conjugated to KLH.

Application

Detect Protein Phosphatase 2 C α/β using this Anti-Protein Phosphatase 2 C α/β Antibody validated for use in WB.
