General description

See transmission curve labelled D
These cuvettes have four optically clear sides.

Note: polystyrene and polymethacrylate cuvettes are incompatible with some organic solvents.

Application

Fluorimeter cuvette may be used :
  • to perform a fluorimetric assay of the hepatic microsomal O-dealkylation reaction, using ethoxyresorufin (7-ethoxyphenoxazone) as a model substrate for the assay.
  • in the cationic liposome-mediated gene transfer method, done in order to deduce the role of helper lipids.
  • in the fluorescence experiment modified in the Silber-Porter method, for estimation of corticosterone in rat plasma.
  • in fluorimeteric assay for membrane potential to determine membrane depolarization in study done to elucidate the role of membrane potential in the mechanism of action of daptomycin.

Compatibility

Not compatible with some organic solvents.

In the procedure for cationic liposome-mediated transfection, the cationic lipid is usually mixed with a "helper lipid" to increase its transfection potency. The importance of helper lipids, including dioleoylphosphatidylcholine (DOPC) and phosphatidylethanolamine (dioleoyl PE), DO was examined. Freeze-fracture electron microscopy
