Alkane standard solution C8-C20 has been used as standard in the measurement of retention indices for the identification of alkanes co-existing in essential oils using gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry.
Alkane standard solution C8-C20 may also be used as an analytical standard for measurement of linear retention indices (LRI) in the identification of volatile components in honey samples using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS).
