General description
2-Methyl-1-naphthylamine, also known as 1-Amino-2-methylnaphthalene, is an aromatic amine commonly used as a building block in various reaction, including the synthesis of iron (II) chloride complex. It also exhibits redox properties under strongly acidic conditions and can be electropolymerized to form oligomeric films.
Application
- Cleaning the arsenic (V) contaminated water for safe-guarding the public health using novel composite material: This study uses 2-methyl-1-naphthylamine in the fabrication of hybrid composite materials for arsenic removal from water (Awual et al., 2019).
- Synthesis of atropisomeric phosphino-triazoles and their corresponding gold (i) complexes: Describes the synthesis of triazoles from 2-methyl-1-naphthylamine, which are used to develop gold (I) complexes (Zhao et al., 2023).
- Copper-Catalyzed C4-H Regioselective Phosphorylation/Trifluoromethylation of Free 1-Naphthylamines: Discusses the chemical reactions involving 2-methyl-1-naphthylamine under copper-catalyzed conditions (Jing et al., 2019).
- Imine ligands based on ferrocene: synthesis, structural and Mössbauer characterization and evaluation as chromogenic and electrochemical sensors for Hg 2+: Reports the use of 2-methyl-1-naphthylamine in synthesizing ferrocene-based ligands for mercury sensing (Rosa et al., 2018).
