Anti-PLK1 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total PLK1 protein.
PLK1 (polo like kinase 1) gene is mapped to human chromosome 16p12.2. It codes for the protein serine/threonine kinase.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human PLK1.
Immunogen Range: 176-225
Biochem/physiol Actions
PLK1 (polo like kinase 1) is predominantly involved in mitosis. It mediates the phosphorylation of cyclin B1/CDK1 (cyclin dependent kinase 1) complex, and activation of the anaphase promoting complex. PLK1 has anti-apoptotic function. Upregulation of gene is observed in different types of cancer, such as colorectal cancer and is regarded as an oncogene. PLK1 is involved in checkpoint recovery and adaptation following DNA damage.
