General description

Tris EDTA is a biological buffer in research. It is a combination of Tris base and EDTA, a metal chelator. Tris provides buffering capacity, maintaining a stable pH in biological samples, while EDTA helps prevent metal ion interference by chelating divalent metal ions. Tris EDTA is often used in molecular biology techniques, such as DNA and RNA sample preparation, electrophoresis, and enzymatic reactions. It helps maintain the stability and integrity of nucleic acids by inhibiting the activity of nucleases and metal-dependent enzymes.

Application

TE buffer is useful for general extraction, suspension, washing, and storage buffer and in the preparation of DNA or RNA. Commonly used for DNA sequencing, restriction enzyme digestion; ligation and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) applications.

Features and Benefits

  • BioUltra grade - suitable for many molecular biology applications
  • DNase, RNase, phosphatase, and protease-free
  • High purity and free of trace metals
