General description
The complexation reaction of phenyl 2-pyridyl ketoxime with some transition and heavy metal ions Co2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, Pb2+, Fe2+, Fe3+, Cr3+ and La2+ has been studied potentiometrically. The reactions of phenyl(2-pyridyl)ketone oxime, with nickel(II) sulfate hexahydrate, in the absence of an external base, have been investigated.
Application
Phenyl 2-pyridyl ketoxime was used in preparation of inverse-9-metallacrown-3, trinuclear clusters.

The reactions of phenyl(2-pyridyl)ketone oxime (py)C(ph)NOH, with nickel(II) sulfate hexahydrate under reflux, in the absence of an external base, have been investigated. The reaction of NiSO4 x 6H2O with two equivalents of (py)C(ph)NOH in H2O/MeOH leads to the dinuclear complex

Interaction of phenyl 2-pyridyl ketoxime (PhPyCNO)/X(-)"blends" (X(-) = OH(-), Cl(-), ClO(4)(-), 2,4-D) (2,4-DH = 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid) with copper perchlorate has yielded trinuclear clusters that have been characterized as inverse-9-metallacrown-3, accommodating one or two anions. The structure of the complex [Cu(3)(PhPyCNO)(3)(mu(3)-OH)(2,4-D)(2)]
