Monoclonal Anti-CD3ζ chain (mouse IgG2b isotype) is derived from the hybridoma ZT-10 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 79-87 of mouse CD3 ζ chain conjugated to KLH. CD3ζ, a 16-kDa transmembrane protein, consists of a short extracellular domain and a long intracellular domain including immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM). It is a subunit of T cell receptor chains (TCR), which is expressed by T cells and natural killer (NK) cells.
The CD3ζ (CD247) gene is mapped to human chromosome 1q24.2.
Specificity
Monoclonal Anti-CD3ζ chain recognizes human and mouse CD3ζ chain.
Application
Monoclonal Anti-CD3 ζ chain antibody produced in mouse has been used in immunocytochemistry and flow cytometry.
Biochem/physiol Actions
CD3ζ regulates immunity, neuronal development and synaptic plasticity. It is vital for T cell receptor chains (TCR) complex assembly and expression. Downregulation of TCR ζ-chain expression and impairment of T-cell function linked to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), rheumatoid arthritis, cancer and infectious diseases. Altered expression and function of CD3ζ in T cells is associated with hematological diseases.
Physical form
Supplied as a solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide as a preservative
Storage and Stability
For extended storage, freeze at −20 °C in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing, or storage in “frost-free” freezers, is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.

The immunoreceptor-associated protein CD3ζ is known for its role in immunity and has also been implicated in neuronal development and synaptic plasticity. However, the mechanism by which CD3ζ regulates synaptic transmission remains unclear. In this study, we showed that mice
