General description

Pullulan is a linear glucan polysaccharide made up of α-1,4-maltotriose repeating units. It is produced by yeast-like fungus Aureobasidium pullulans from starch and has α-1,6 linkages between two maltotriose units.

Application

The set of analytical standards can also be used as follows:
  • Calibration of the polymer-based column in the estimation of molecular weight of the polysaccharide fractions obtained from seaweeds— S. latissima and M. stellatus, by a high-performance size exclusion chromatography (HPSEC) method
  • Measurement of molecular masses of oligomeric cellulose by size exclusion chromatography in combination with multi-angle laser light scattering (MALLS) detection
  • To calibrate the SEC column in the determination of molecular size distribution of microalgal native glycogen
  • Quantitative analysis of membrane formation process of alginate–chitosan microcapsules using gel permeation chromatography(GPC).

Components

Kit with carefully selected reference materials to calibrate GPC/SEC/GFC systems. The kit contains standards of the same type, but with different molar masses, a certificate of analysis (CoA) for each standard and an example calibration curve with analytical conditions.
The standards need to be weighed before use. Suitable for calibrations in aqueous solutions and DMSO.
Kit contains 10 different pullulan standards, each 100 mg, with Mp ranging from ~350 to ~700,000.
