Biochem/physiol Actions

Wnt gene family members, including Wnt-1 through Wnt-10, play a key role in regulating cellular growth and differentiation. These proteins have been implicated in oncogenesis and in several developmental processes, including regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis.[1] Wnt family member-2 (Wnt-2) has a role in activating β-catenin.[2] It has been shown to have a role in cardiogenesis.[3] The protein is overexpressed in tumors and cancers.[4][1]
