General description

Stoned B-like factor (STON1) is a sperm specific transcription factor. It consists of N and C-terminal conserved domains connected by an internal nonconserved domain. It also contains an extended N terminus (Stoned B/TFIIAα/β-like factor; SALF). It is expressed in testis.

Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

Stoned B-like factor (STON1) is a transcription factor. It forms a complex, which stabilizes TBP-TATA interactions in an electrophoretic mobility shift assay. It has been reported that STON1-GTF2A1L may play a vital role in testis biology.
