General description

Csk is a widely expressed non-receptor tyrosine kinase that consists of a catalytic domain, as well as SH2 and SH3 domains. This kinase phosphorylates the C-terminal tail of Src-family protein tyrosine kinases (SFKs) and subsequently inhibits SFKs. As SFKs have been associated carcinogenesis, Csk may have implications in cancer therapeutics
Anti-Csk antibody is specific for human and rat Csk. The product may also react with mouse Csk. In immunoblotting, staining of Csk is specifically inhibited with the Csk immunizing peptide (rat, amino acids 433-450).

Immunogen

peptide corresponding to amino acids 433-450 at the C-terminus of rat Csk. This sequence is highly conserved in human and mouse.

Application

Anti-Csk antibody is suitable for use in western blot (1:2,000 using whole cell extracts of human Jurkat cell line and cytosolic fractions of embryonic rat brain). The product may also be used for microarray and immunohistochemistry (1:200 using formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections of rat spleen).

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

C-terminal Src kinase (CSK) and CSK-homologous kinase (CHK) are endogenous inhibitors of the Src-family protein tyrosine kinases (SFKs). Since constitutive activation of SFKs contributes to cancer formation and progression, to prevent excessive activation of SFKs, their activity in normal cells

Csk (C-terminal Src kinase) is a protein tyrosine kinase that phosphorylates Src family member C-terminal tails, resulting in downregulation of Src family members. It is composed of three principal domains: an SH3 (Src homology 3) domain, an SH2 (Src homology
