Application

Adenosine 5γ-triphosphate (ATP) is a central component of energy storage and metabolism in vivo. ATP is use in many cellular processes, respiration, biosynthetic reactions, motility, and cell division. ATP is a substrate of many kinases involved in cell signaling and of adenylate cyclase(s) that produce the second messenger cAMP. ATP provides the metabolic energy to drive metabolic pumps. ATP serves as a coenzyme in a wide array of enzymatic reactions.

    1. This product is recommended to be soluble in water at 50 mg/ml. Aqueous solutions of ATP are stable for months when frozen at –15 °C, and for approximately one week at 0 °C.

    1. Aqueous solutions of ATP are stable for months when frozen at -15°C and for approximately one week at 0°C. ADP is the first hydrolysis product formed, with additional hydrolysis leading to the formation of AMP. However, ATP solutions are only stable for several hours at 0 °C when dissolved in a trichloroacetic acid solution. In alkaline solution, it rapidly decomposes to inorganic pyrophosphate and adenosine 5'-phosphate even at 0 °C.
