General description

Placental Alkaline Phosphatase (PLAP) belongs to a family of four isozymes that are synthesized in primordial germ cells and in term placental syncytiotrophoblasts. Anti-PLAP may be useful in the identification of germ cell tumors.

Linkage

PLAP Positive Control Slides, Product No. 321S, are available for immunohistochemistry (formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections).

Physical form

Solution in Tris Buffer, pH 7.3-7.7, with 1% BSA and <0.1% Sodium Azide

The distribution and transport of thrombospondin (TSP), fibrinogen (Fbg), fibronectin (Fn), and Factor VIII-related antigen (VIII:RAg) in resting and thrombin-stimulated platelets was investigated by immunofluorescence microscopy. In resting intact cells, little surface staining was seen for these proteins. In permeable

Placental alkaline phosphatase (PLAP) is normally produced by primordial germ cells and syncytiotrophoblasts, and the detection of its expression has been useful in the diagnosis of germ cell tumors. We have recently observed PLAP immunoreactivity in normal human adult and
