Descripción general

Chloride intracellular channel protein 1 (CLIC1) is a part of the CLIC family of proteins. This family of proteins reconstitute in phospholipid vesicles and have been shown to have chloride channel action. CLIC1 may rotate between membrane-bound and soluble forms since it has been seen as a membrane protein and in the cytoplasm. When there is a lack of detergent, CLIC1 becomes membrane-bound and can act as an anion-selective channel. Recently, it has been shown that CLIC1 is required in angiogenesis and has a part in controlling integrin cell surface expression.
