Descripción general

Amino-terminal enhancer of split (AES), also known as GRG or ESP1 or TLE5 or Gp130-associated protein GAM, is a member of the Groucho/ transducin-like enhancer of split (TLE) family. AES belongs to a group of transcriptional co-repressors that play an important role in neurogenesis, segmentation and sex determination. AES is suggested to be a dominant repressor towards other family members of the TLE family and might be required for the initiation and maintenance of the differentiated state. AES has been shown to inhibit the NF-kappa-B-regulated gene expression. AES forms a complex with Bit1 (Bcl-2 inhibitor of transcription 1). Recent studies suggest that this complex turns off a survival-promoting gene transcription program controlled by the TLE protein family. The apoptosis of cells transfected with AES and Bit1 implies that the Bit1-AES pathway contributing to anoikis is regulated by integrins, and more specifically – with the Alpha5Beta1 integrin. AES is found predominantly in muscle, heart and placenta. Additionally, in fetal tissues, AES is expressed highly in the heart, lung, kidney, brain and liver.

Especificidad

This antibody recognizes the C-terminus of AES.

Inmunógeno

Epitope: C-terminus
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human AES.

Aplicación
