n-Tetradecylphosphocholine (C14PC), a more stable analog of myristoyl lysophosphatidylcholine, is an inhibitor of MARSA virulence. C14PC is a broad-spectrum inhibitor of Panton–Valentine leucocidin (PVL), LukED and α−toxin. C14PC protects primary human immune cells in vitro against cytolysis by PVL and α-toxin. C14PC can be used as a detergent for membrane solubilization.

Parasympathetic nerve (PN) signaling plays a crucial role in the maintenance of pancreatic β-cell volume density (Vβ). PN may be pathologically affected in diabetic polyneuropathy (DPN). However, the association between the reduction of PNs in islets and Vβ and the

The rapid emergence and dissemination of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains poses a major threat to public health. MRSA possesses an arsenal of secreted host-damaging virulence factors that mediate pathogenicity and blunt immune defenses. Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL) and α-toxin are
